The history of CCUM

The first Italian University Colleges date back to the 14th century, although the greatest development occurred in the Renaissance period and in the last century. From the outset, their goal has been to promote social promotion based on merit.

During the 20th century, University Colleges worked to form a responsible ruling class capable of interpreting the changes of modern society. This is why the Italian State has felt the need to enhance the centuries-old history of Colleges in Italy, recognizing their role as highly cultural promotion bodies that, with their educational offer, have supported the main universities.

The recognized Colleges created a representative body in 1995 called the Permanent Conference of University Colleges (CCU). In 2011, it became the CCUM - Conference of University Colleges of Merit, legally based in Rome.

Organization

The Association is composed of the Assembly of the Associates, the President, the Vice President, the Board, and the Auditor. The common goal is to assist the Colleges in national and international relations.
